Board election, Penn Alexander Schoolyard re-design discussion at SHCA Annual meeting this Tuesday

The Spruce Hill Community Association (SHCA) will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m., in the Penn Alexander School gymnasium (enter through cafeteria/blacktop entrance on 43rd street between Locust and Spruce). At its annual meeting, the community group elects new officers and board members and invites guest experts to talk about important community issues. The event is free and all community members are invited to attend, learn more about the organization, and get involved.

This year’s meeting will feature a presentation on a community-influenced, space-based initiative. Julie Bush, Landscape Architect, Principal at Ground Reconsidered, will be the featured speaker on “Penn Alexander School: Re-imagining the Schoolyard.”  Continue Reading

Cedar Park Neighbors Board election, info session on taxpayer assistance programs on Monday

parkCedar Park Neighbors (CPN) will hold its annual meeting on Monday, April 16, and all interested neighbors are welcome to attend. During the meeting, the CPN executive and board member election will be held. You can check the list of candidates here (please note that only CPN members can vote; if you want to join CPN, go here for more information).

After the election, Vicki Riley from the Department of Revenue will speak about taxpayer assistance programs.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the election, and the presentation and Q & A with Vicky Riley will be held from 7 – 8 p.m., followed by the board meeting.

The meeting will be held at the Calvary Community Center at 48th and Baltimore (please enter on 48th Street for the chapel).

CPN’s annual membership meeting, board election tonight

parkThe Cedar Park Neighbors community association is holding its annual membership meeting tonight at Calvary Center for Culture and Community (48th & Baltimore) and community members are welcome to attend. The annual Board of Directors election for current CPN members will also take place (voting will be from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.) The general program will start at 7:00 p.m.

The meeting will include the following agenda:

  •  Introduction of nominees and standing Board Members
  • Update on the AVI Townhall meeting
  • Update on “Future of the Neighborhood” survey
  • Featured Speaker: Iola Harper, Enterprise Center Senior Director of the Acceleration Group
  • Community announcements
  • Representative from Police District will speak
  • Recognition of long dedication to CPN by Karen Allen, Dorothy Berlind, Laurie Friedman, Victoria Iannotta, and Joanne Pham
  • Announcements of new Board Members (polls close at 7:30 pm)
