Found tuxedo cat (44th & Walnut)

Posted on 17 November 2011 by WPL

Found tuxedo catA neighbor reports that she has found a black and white tuxedo cat near her apartment building at 44th and Walnut:

“I’ve seen a cat outside on and off for a little over a month. Last night I finally brought him in. He’s super sweet and social. Total lap cat… There are strays all over the city but it didn’t occur to me until now–when I heard some people near my apartment building making sounds like they were looking for an animal–that he may be someone’s pet. I live at 44th & Walnut.”

Young calico cat found near 47th and Hazel

Posted on 12 October 2011 by WPL

Found calico catWe received this information from one of our readers.

“We live on the 4700 block of Hazel Ave. For the past few weeks, we have seen a young calico cat (we think female) on our block (see photo). She has a collar, appears in good general health and is friendly; we assumed she belonged to someone on our block. The past few days, we noticed she has an eye infection which is getting progressively worse… Anyone knows anything about this cat? (does she actually belong to anyone? Is she being treated?)”

If you know who this cat may belong to, please email Heather at: heather.simoes.torpey [at] gmail.com

Found tortoiseshell/calico cat

Posted on 09 October 2011 by WPL

Found catThis information came from reader Ellen:

“Found petite female tortoiseshell/calico; mottled gray fur with dusty light brown. She appears to be pretty young, very healthy, and definitely not a stray. Her nose is gray and she’s got a dusty brown belly tinged with gray and a few darker gray stripes at the end of her tail. She’s very loving and meows very loudly.

She appeared on my doorstep (near 47th and Cedar) on Saturday, October 8 around 7:00 and meowed so loudly that neighbors came by to make sure my cat hadn’t escaped.”

Please contact Ellen at 814-880-0306 if you have any information about the owners of the cat.

Found calico kitten (49th & Springfield)

Posted on 30 August 2011 by WPL

Found calico kittenReader Kristen wrote us with this information:

This little cat broke into my house and has decided this is where she lives but I think that she might belong to someone else in West Philly.

Found near 49th and Springfield.

I’m treating her for fleas and making sure she is neutered so she might be a stray but before I adopt her out I wanted to put out the call.

Owners can call me at 917-280-4287 and describe the collar (no tags) she was wearing.
