Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll to return this summer; Community vendors welcome to apply

The Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll is coming back again this year! University City District (UCD), the longtime event organizer, has scheduled two Strolls this summer – on Thursday, June 6 and Thursday, Sept. 5.

The event draws thousands of neighbors and visitors to enjoy dollar deals from participating local businesses and community vendors. In 2022, the price levels vendors can offer were expanded from $1 deals to deals for $1, $3, or $5.

Currently, UCD is accepting applications from both community food vendors and community merchandise vendors to join in this event as official participants. If you are a community vendor interested in selling either food or merchandise, please email Margaret Leidy Starke, Senior Manager of Events and Community Partnerships, at margaret@universitycity.org. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 19.

One of the most popular local summer events, the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll, is set to return, according to an announcement by the event organizer, the University City District (UCD). Two Strolls are being planned this year – on Thursday, June 15, and Thursday, Sept. 7, each from 5 – 8 p.m..

Over the years, the event has become a local business and community festival. As always, neighbors and visitors will be able to enjoy dollar deals from participating vendors. In 2022, the price levels for vendor offerings were expanded from $1 deals to deals for $1, $3, or $5. One of the most popular local outdoor events, the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll, is set to return this summer.

University City District (UCD), the longtime organizer of the event, is planning two Strolls this year – on Thursday, June 16 and Thursday, Sept. 15, each from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Over the years, the event has drawn thousands of visitors, both local residents and guests, who enjoyed dollar deals from participating vendors. In 2022, the price levels for vendor offers will be expanded from $1 deals to deals for $1, $3, or $5.

UCD is now accepting applications from both community food vendors and community merchandise vendors to join in this event as official participants. The purpose of selecting official vendors is to ensure all vendors are in compliance with various City agencies, including the Philadelphia Health Department and the Philadelphia Department of Licenses & Inspection (L&I). UCD offers community vending opportunities at Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll

Applications are now open for community vendors who would like to be a part of this year’s Baltimore Avenue Dollar Strolls, which will be held on June 6th and September 12th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. For the first time this year, not only community food vendors but also merchandise vendors are invited to officially participate along with dozens of Baltimore Avenue businesses.

Organized by University City District (UCD) and Baltimore Avenue Business Association (BABA), the strolls draw thousands of visitors, who enjoy $1 specials along Baltimore Avenue, from 43rd to 52nd streets. The purpose of selecting official vendors is to “ensure all vendors are in compliance with Philadelphia permitting codes, whether Philadelphia Health Department codes for food vending, or the Department of Licenses and Inspections for merchandise vendors,” according to a statement by UCD.  Continue Reading
