Why
Incarceration has become epidemic. There are over 2.3 million Americans in prisons and jails nationwide and more than 70 million men and women have criminal records. That impacts families, neighborhoods, and budgets.
Every day, remedies are being proposed on the city, state, and on the federal levels. However, what’s also needed are strong organizations that directly the support individuals, families and communities directly affected by this damaging trend. Proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the Prison Society’s programs and services. To learn more about what we do, please visit us at www.prisonsociety.org
Additional Info
For over 200 years, the Prison Society has advocated for second chances, stable employment, and meaningful programs. Founded in 1787 by Ben Franklin, the Prison Society has been on the front lines in this struggle, to fight for humanity, justice, and a more efficient and effective system.
