The Barnes Foundation, People’s Emergency Center (PEC), and PEC Community Development Corporation, through their collaborative initiative Barnes West, present Everyday Places Artist Partnerships, featuring five West Philadelphia-based artists creating site-specific works throughout neighborhood, engaging local businesses & community members.

WHAT: Launch party for Everyday Places Artist Partnerships. An opportunity to meet the Barnes West team and participating artists, as well as learn how the public can get involved with each artist’s project. There will be live music from Sound Village, spinning tunes from the early 2000’s to the present day, light refreshments, and art activities.

WHO:

– Participating artists: Jahwula Seapoe, Karen Smith, Keyonna Butler, Andrea Walls, and Marshall James Kavanaugh

– Val Gay, Deputy Director of Audience Engagement & Chief Experience Officer, The Barnes Foundation

– James Wright, Director of Community, Economic, and Real Estate Development at PECCDC

WHEN: Thursday, July 29, 5:30 – 7 pm

WHERE: “The Bank,” located at 3750 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104. (The party will take place outdoors). Rain plan: 4050 Haverford, Philadelphia, PA 19104, in the community room accessible via Preston St (indoors). Rain call will be made Thursday morning and will be posted on the event Facebook and Eventbrite links.
