Get ready for a neighborhood-wide block party! West Philly Porchfest is returning for a major milestone this weekend, celebrating its 10th annual edition on Saturday, May 30, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The completely free, do-it-yourself music festival is set to transform the neighborhood into a massive outdoor concert venue, featuring more than 400 free performances across over 190 resident-hosted porches, lawns, and sidewalks.
What started in 2016 with just 75 acts on 30 porches has exploded over the last decade into one of Philadelphia’s most beloved grassroots arts traditions. Founded by five neighbors inspired by the original Porchfest movement in Ithaca, NY, the festival remains entirely community-powered—no corporate stages, no ticket barriers, just local talent and neighborhood hospitality.
Because the schedule spans dozens of blocks and hundreds of acts, it is truly a choose-your-own-adventure experience. The lineup is intentionally staggered across different zones of the neighborhood to help you catch as much music as possible throughout the afternoon.
Performers range from student groups and experimental artists to professional neighborhood bands, jazz ensembles, folk singers, punk groups, and local DJs.
Don’t know where to start? Grab some friends and head toward the core corridors around Baltimore Avenue. Local cafes like Knockbox Cafe (45th & Pine) and various hubs around Baltimore Ave. will be buzzing with crowds and kickoff events.
