One of West Philly’s biggest annual community events, Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll is returning in June. Two Strolls will be held this summer – on Thursday, June 4 and Thursday, Sept. 3.
The event draws thousands of visitors each year to enjoy deals from participating local businesses and community vendors.
The Dollar Stroll is a great opportunity for local businesses and community vendors to sell food, beverages, and merchandise for some valuable exposure. The price levels vendors can offer are $1, $3, or $5.
Businesses with storefronts along Baltimore Avenue between 40th and 52nd can sign up to become an official participant, the University City District (UCD) has announced. UCD is also accepting applications from community vendors. Community vendors with all necessary licensing and permits who are interested in selling either food or merchandise at the event are welcome to email Margaret Leidy Starke, Senior Manager of Events and Community Partnerships, at margaret@universitycity.org. UCD can offer assistance obtaining permitting if necessary. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 24.
Community groups and non-profits are also welcome to sign up to table at the Dollar Stroll to hand out information or free items.
Please note that only vendors selected by UCD and approved by the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Special Events will be able to operate at this event. More information on community vending at the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll is available here.
