The Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll, is returning Thursday, Sept. 4. The year’s second and final edition of the Stroll (the first one was held in June) is 5-8 p.m. between 40th and 51st streets and will feature dozens of local businesses and community vendors. As always, this event is a great opportunity to enjoy special one-night-only deals for $1, $3, or $5 from your favorite businesses, check out new local businesses and vendors, and finally, enjoy live performances while strolling along this vibrant commercial corridor.

Yes, yes, everyone can call me daft; call me a fool for the (not too distant at all) old times, but ‘dollar stroll’ seems to roll a little easier off the tongue than the $1 $3 or $5 stroll. People will say, “hey dumb dumb Cornholler or whatever your dumb name is, inflation is like totally a thing.” Well since I didn’t get good marks in school (GED – and close call at that), has the influx of high tax bracket residents to the stroll area made the $5 stroll the new ‘dollar stroll’. I’m just asking; don’t know the answer. Is a fiver now what a dollar used to be due to inflation or changing neighborhood demographics?
