December 5, 2023

UCity Square Holiday Fest is a new annual West Philadelphia tradition first launched last year. This year, the two-day event is returning to The Lawn at uCity Square (3701 Filbert St) on Friday, Dec. 8 and will feature a lot of fun activities for all ages.

On Friday, from 6 to 7 p.m., community members are invited for a West Philadelphia public tree lighting ceremony. Councilmember Jamie Gauthier will have the honor of flipping the switch to light the tree! The event will also include a performance by the Ginger Trio. Other events and activities on Friday include Holiday Karaoke (from 4 to 8 p.m.), an inflatable Craft Cottage, live performers and DJ sets, a beer garden, a Holiday Vendor Marketplace, complimentary hot beverages, food trucks and more.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, the fest will continue with an opportunity for some skating at a pop-up skating rink (from 2 to 6 p.m.). Free skate rentals will be provided. Kids are invited to take photos with Santa (from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.) and ride on a Trackless Train (from 2 to 6 p.m.). Saturday’s schedule also includes Craft Cottages, live performers and DJs, Holiday Vendor Marketplace, beer garden and food trucks.

UCity Square Holiday Fest is a free event open to the public. More information and free registration links are available here.
