Fall is here, which means it’s time to spend more time outdoors and enjoy the beautiful weather. Check out these fun events and activities happening in West Philly’s Clark Park:

Clark Park Youth Soccer League is returning this fall and registration is currently open for children ages 4 to 9. The 2021 Fall Season kicks off this Saturday, Oct. 2 and will continue until early November. Groups will be smaller this season due to COVID safety. The program meets every Saturday in the park’s “Bowl” near 43rd and Chester. This is a low-cost program run by volunteers. For more information and registration, go here.

• On Saturday, Oct. 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m., the University of the Sciences (USciences), located near the southwest edge of the park on Woodland Ave., is hosting a free Bicentennial Block Party for the community. The event will kick off a month-long celebration of the university’s 200th Anniversary. The event will include the following performances and activities for all ages:

  • Music by DJ and drumline by Mad Beatz, student dance groups and Zumba
  • Fall-themed snacks and take-home crafts
  • Hands-on science experiments, games, giveaways
  • Health Fair with an “Ask-a-Pharmacist” booth and free COVID vaccinations

• The annual Party in the Park event is returning this fall after a hiatus. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 2-8 p.m. and will be called Parktoberfest inspired by the season. This eighth rendition of Party in the Park will once again host a beer garden featuring Dock Street Brewery originals with food trucks to help meet your cravings. As always, there will be local live music and fun events to keep the whole family entertained! Everyone is welcome and admission is free. More details are here.
