Philadelphia launches COVID-19 vaccine pre-registration website

January 21, 2021

Philadelphia residents can now pre-register for the coronavirus vaccine through a new website run by the city.

Through the website, the Philadelphia Department of Health will gather information, such as contact and some personal information, from those who are interested in receiving the vaccine. Then those who had pre-registered will be contacted about scheduling an appointment when the vaccine becomes available to them. It may take weeks or even months before this happens, depending on the vaccine supply in the city and the person’s age/occupation/health condition.

City officials announced earlier this week that Philadelphia is moving to Phase 1B of the COVID vaccine distribution, which includes people over the age of 75, those with high-risk health conditions such as cancer, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and patients who have had an organ transplant, first responders (police officers and firefighters), people in congregate settings, and more. For more information, go here.

Those who had already pre-registered for the vaccine through Philly Fighting COVID (COVIDreadi) or Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium can also register on the city-run website, but the city said it’s cooperating with these organizations.

As of January 20, over 79,000 Philadelphians have been partially vaccinated, and over 19,000 have received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
