September 11, 2011

Elvis - lost cat

Update (Sept. 14): Elvis came back home! (see Brendan’s comment below the story).

We got this email from our reader Brendan:

“Our cat Elvis went missing last night from our house at 5012 Kingsessing Avenue. He is a very fluffy orange tabby mix, with white front paws, a white chest, and an enormous orange tail. He is about 2 years old, very docile, and has no outdoor experience. Elvis is very friendly, but shy with strangers. He answers to his name, and meows like a kitten.”

If you’ve seen Elvis please call Brendan at: 267-597-9679.

Best of luck Brendan and Elvis. I’m looking for my cat, too, so I know exactly what you’re going through right now.
My neighborhood is a bit far for Elvis to have roamed, but I’ll keep an eye out for him too when I’m out looking for George.

elvis has that maine coon kind of fur, very puffy long hair. he gets dredlocks on it. he also has a mane.

elvis came out of hiding last night. The little jerk was in my basement the whole time, where he’d been rolling in filth. I suspect the reason he hid out so long is he has learned that rolling in basement filth results in a soapy bath, which he hates and which he received immediately.

thanks for your calls an help everyone, I am very grateful.

You didn’t happen to lose him again, did you?

I found a very friendly super long haired orange guy like this – declawed, had a collar on, overly friendly on the median in between Cedar & Baltimore at 46th on Monday night. Didn’t take him home with me because I already have 2 male kitties in my apartment, and I wasn’t sure that he was a lost guy.

Googled the description above, and came across this.

If the above mentioned cat is not yours, I hope he was an outdoor guy. I just got very nervous when I noticed he didn’t have his claws.

    Jessica:

There’s a cat named Isidore missing from the 4700 block of Baltimore matching the description you give. You’ll find posters giving contact information for the owner all over the 4700 block of Cedar. I apologize, but I don’t have that information on hand. Good luck, and thanks for being a good Samaritan!
