This came from a neighbor who lives near 50th and Catharine Sts.
“I found a dog today (at 11 a.m.) running down the street near my house at 50th and Catharine St. No collar, just a choke chain. The dog is male, intact, brindle and white possibly American Bulldog or Boxer mix. Very sweet and knows some commands. I walked it around the neighborhood, but no one seemed to recognize him.
I took him to ACCT at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave. Philadelphia – no microchip. Because I already have 3 dogs at home, I couldn’t keep him and he’s now at ACCT under a 48-hour stray hold. If this is your dog, his number at the shelter is: A15383449. You can also call 267-385-3800 extension 0 to speak with someone.
If this is NOT your dog, but you’re interested – he’s amazing. Well-behaved and rides very well in the car, he’d be a great addition to any household. He will be up for adoption after his 48-hour stray hold is finished on Thursday 2/9/12.”

This friendly brindle female pit bull was found in Clark Park early Monday morning. Chain collar, no tag, maybe less than two years old. If you think this is someone’s lost pooch contact Ed at motoedde [at] gmail.com or 267-237-6116.
Update: Ed was going to take the dog to Animal Control today since he hadn’t been able to find anyone to foster her.

This came from our reader Kathleen Turner:
Dog Found, 50th and Locust, 5/19 at about 9:30. She’s a tan pit bull-type dog, with white markings and a very friendly disposition — definitely NOT an aggressive dog. She was wearing a chain collar with a leash attached, but no tags.
We walked around the neighborhood for awhile but no one seemed to be out looking for her.
If you think you might know her or her owner, please contact me by email (khturner32 [at] gmail.com), or call 215-834-1034.
We have 4 cats in the house and definitely cannot keep her, so I’d like to find her owner as quickly as possible!

Update from Linda Lee:
Stacy Darrah is still searching for this dog’s owner. She’s put calls
in to Husky rescue groups, as well, and he’s on a couple wait lists.
Stacy’s apartment is small and she has a large dog of her own, so
would like to find another place for him, with a little more room,
until owner turns up or a slot opens up with a rescue. He’s a good
natured young male, with loads of energy, not aggressive. He does fine in a crate and is house broken. She’s arranging for him to be neutered this coming week. Please let her know if you can help out.
She really has her hands full these days! Her number is
267-902-2020. Feel free to call her if you have any questions. Many thanks! -LL
