Polly is a ‘Hemingway cat’ (polydactyl), with extra toes on each of her paws.
This week’s featured cat is Polly. She’s available for adoption through City Kitties. Polly is a polydactyl kitty with extra toes on each of her paws. Polydactyl cats are sometimes referred to as ‘Hemingway cats’ because the author is known to have favored them.
Polly was found wandering the streets alone and scared with a terrible eye infection. But as you can see, it didn’t take long for this stunning dilute calico to heal, clean herself up, and look forward to the next phase of her life.
Polly’s got more than a unique look—she has a winning personality to match. She adjusts easily to new surroundings and is quick to make herself at home. Her favorite toy is a string to chase, but she also enjoys curling up on a lap or pillow. As a young and gentle kitty, Polly is likely to adapt well to cats, dogs or children. She’s ready to find her forever home today, so don’t miss your chance to adopt this special girl!
Polly is spayed, FIV/FeLV negative, up to date on FVRCP and rabies vaccinations, and has been tested/treated for fleas and parasites as needed.
Polly’s adoption fee is $85 to help subsidize the cost of veterinary care. To fill out an application click here.

Mama needs a home.
A neighbor Shifra is looking for a permanent home for her foster cat Mama. Here’s what Shifra wrote us about her cat:
Mama came into my life a couple months back when she followed me home from 49th and Baltimore. Ever since then she’s been living in my foster care, but she is searching for her forever home.
She is a small, two-year old tuxedo. She has a very sweet symmetrical black patch on her snout, and the white on the back of her front legs trails up her legs, unlike other tuxedos.
Mama is very affectionate and spunky. She expresses herself with frequent purring and a soft background pigeon coo. She can be playful, but mostly she just likes companionship. Her tail quivers when she gets excited and she sometimes likes to curl up under the covers.
She is in very good health, recently spayed, negative for FIV and FeLV, and has been given her first round of rabies and FVRCP vaccines. Mama would do best in a home where she is the only companion animal.

Demona
Today’s pet is Demona.
Demona is a 6 year-old indoor cat. Her owner is moving soon and looking for a new home for her cat.
Demona likes scratches behind the ears, lazy afternoons in the sun, gourmet catnip and playing hide and seek between the shower curtains. Dislikes: other cats, dogs and sitting on laps.
Demona needs to find an owner who will give her the attention she needs to deal with her weight problem. She cannot be around other cats, as she might eat all of the food.
To set up a meeting with Demona, please contact her owner at demonathecat [at] gmail.com
