A multimedia speculative art exhibition featuring the work of nine artists exploring alternate futures free from the shadow of gun violence. Rooted in the principles of futures thinking and speculative design, Futures Without Guns invites visitors to embark on a journey through diverse artistic perspectives and tap into their innate creativity to envision a future where the threat of gun violence is a distant memory. Futures Without Guns is a call to action that unites us in our collective determination to actively shape a brighter future.

BalletX returns to TD Pavilion at the Mann for two extraordinary nights of dance and live music! Experience world premiere choreography by Natasha Adorlee with live music by Jac Ross, the Philadelphia premiere of Takehiro Ueyama’s Heroes (2019) with live music by Kato Hideki, and the return of Jamar Roberts’ Eros & Psyche (2023), featuring a Philip Glass score performed live by ensemble132.

Penn State Master Gardeners of Philadelphia County Plant Sale

Join us on Sunday, April 28 from 10am – 2pm for our annual Garden Day & Plant Sale! We will be selling a variety of affordable seedlings and native plants with beautiful blooms. Prices range from $4.00 for vegetable starter plants to $30 for well-established, exotic house plants. Choose from 100s of varieties of unique veggies, herbs, native plants, and pollinators for all kinds of light and moisture conditions. All plants have been carefully cultivated by Penn State Master Gardeners and proceeds support our educational programs.

Philadelphia Master Gardeners will also host garden tours and gardening workshops & demonstrations throughout the day–there’s something for everyone. This is an outdoor event and will be held rain or shine!

BioBlitz at The Woodlands

Join us for an exciting BioBlitz on April 28th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at The Woodlands during the 2024 City Nature Challenge where people from all over the world collaborate to document wildlife in their city!

In partnership with The WoodlandsPhiladelphia Mycology ClubCity Nature Challenge and Feminist Bird Club participants will use the app iNaturalist to explore the biodiversity of The Woodlands (an incredible green space located in West Philadelphia) all while participating in community science! Community science data collected through iNaturalist observations is key to help monitor urban biodiversity health.

Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or a curious beginner, all are welcome to participate in this accessible, engaging, educational experience.
