Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) and the University of Pennsylvania have officially launched the Penn-CCP Entrepreneurship Academy, a new initiative designed to drive economic growth and support small businesses across West Philadelphia.

The program was announced on Thursday during a signing ceremony and open house at CCP’s Career and Advanced Technology Center, featuring leaders from both institutions, local official representatives, and program leadership (see photo).

The academy offers a no-cost, 10-session cohort-based learning experience specifically for existing and emerging West Philadelphia business owners who are aiming to reach $1 million to $10 million in annual revenue within the next three years. Participants will receive practical, hands-on instruction directly applicable to their operations while building strong connections across the local founder network. Taught by faculty from Penn Carey Law and the Wharton School alongside seasoned entrepreneurs and subject matter experts, the curriculum focuses on actionable business growth strategies.
