Here’s a list of holiday markets, fests and community celebrations happening this month in West and Southwest Philadelphia. We’ll update the list as we get more information. Please feel free to post your event in the comments below.

Holiday Makers Market at the Container Village

4862-4870 Parkside Ave.

Through Jan. 1, 2026

The West Philly Container Village is hosting a Holiday Makers Market on the following days and hours: Tuesday-Friday 3 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. (Closed on Christmas Day). “Shop local, discover unique gifts, enjoy food vendors, and experience festive cheer all season long. From handmade crafts to wellness products and artists’ creations, there’s something for everyone. Bring your friends, family, and holiday spirit!” More info on the vendors is here. UPDATE: The market will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 14 due to inclement weather.

uCity Square Holiday Fest

37th and Cuthbert

Thursday, Dec. 11, 4-8 p.m.

This annual event includes gift shopping with local vendors, a tree lighting ceremony, photos with Santa, live music, a beer garden, and more. More details are here.

 

HopePHL’s 11th Kwanzaa Fire & Ice Event

Community Education Center, 3500 Lancaster Ave.

Fri, Dec. 12, 4-7 p.m.

HopePHL is inviting community members for live ice sculpting, musical performances, bonfire, and resources, plus giveaways to complete every holiday gathering! The celebration kicks off with a performance by Beyond the Bars at 4 p.m. while Ice Sculpture Philly recreates the LOVE park statue in ice. The Kwanzaa Fire & Ice Celebration comes into full swing with a musical performance by the incomparable Kenny Sykes at 5 p.m. The first 50 attendees will receive a delicious platter from Lil’ Trent’s. Handmade Holiday Night Market

Black Hound Clay Studio (715 S. 50th St)

Friday, Dec. 12, 5-8 p.m.

This year Black Hound has expanded inside the studio as well as outside, so there are more artists to shop from. More details are here.

 

Holiday West Craft Fest

Outdoors at Black Hound Clay Studio (715 S. 50th St)

Sat, Dec. 13 & Sun, Dec. 14, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

This year, the Holiday edition of the West Craft Fest will be held at a new location: outside the Black Hound Clay Studio and the firehouse at 50th and Baltimore. As always, dozens of local artists and makers will present their handmade wares for two days, with different vendors each day. Check out this year’s vendors list here. UPDATE: The Fest will not be held on Sunday, Dec. 14 due to inclement weather.

 

West Philly Bizarre Holiday Market

Calvary Center (48th and Baltimore)

Sat, Dec. 13, 12-6 p.m.

West Philly Bizarre, the group of independent vendors who you may have seen at Clark Park on Saturdays, is hosting its first Holiday Market. The event will feature 30+ vendors and is a great opportunity to “shop, drink, eat, and hang.” Plus, there will be a raffle with some great prizes. Soulstice Fest

One Art Community Center, 1435 N. 52nd St.

Sat, Dec. 20, 2-9 p.m.

Soulstice Fest is an annual Winter Solstice community event hosted by One Art Community Center. All are invited to a day of collective nourishments – hands-on workshops, wellness offerings, and more. This free/donation-based event features a Holiday Vendor Village, Soft Strength Yoga with Jade Javon, ecstatic dance & breath rounds with Shai, and more. Food will be available for purchase. Free Community Day: Kwanzaa Celebration at the Penn Museum

3260 South St.

Sun, Dec. 28, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Celebrate the magic of Kwanzaa with holiday activities for the whole family, in a joyful celebration that honors African heritage and community. Enjoy captivating performances from Karen Smith Drumming and violinist Owen Valentine. Experience meaningful traditions, explore a marketplace with local artisans, and enjoy storytelling, music, and dance. Plus, handmade Zawadi gifts for all youth (while supplies last)!
