Here’s a roundup of some events scheduled to take place in West and Southwest Philadelphia as part of the annual Juneteenth celebration. The annual Juneteenth Parade, which starts in West Fairmount Park and concludes at Malcolm X Park (52nd and Pine), will take place on Sunday, June 22. Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom – Free Community Festival

Penn Museum (3260 South St)

Saturday, June 14, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Penn Museum is inviting all to a festival filled with joyful performance, live DJ sets, captivating storytelling, and hands-on activities for all ages. Guests can support Black-owned businesses at a community marketplace or grab a bite from local food trucks. The event is free and open to the public. The Bigga Dre Juneteenth Celebration

The Rotunda (40th and Walnut)

Thursday, June 19, 4-8 p.m.

The Bigga Dre Juneteenth Celebration is a cultural event honoring Black freedom, resilience, and excellence. Spearheaded by renowned community leader and event curator Bigga Dre (Amun Sen Hotep Re), this annual celebration is a vibrant reflection of Philadelphia’s Black community and its ongoing contributions to art, activism, and progress. Attendees can expect a powerful blend of live performances, spoken word, educational programming, and showcases of local Black-owned businesses and creatives. Suggested donation: $19. Juneteenth Jubilee at Bartram’s Garden (5400 Lindbergh Blvd)

Sunday, June 22, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Bartram’s Garden is hosting a Juneteenth Jubilee, co-hosted and emcee’d by their friends at VinylTap 215. Enjoy a full day of activities such as live performances and storytelling, vendors, free workshops, lawn games and more!

Annual Juneteenth Parade & Festival

52nd Street, Malcolm X Park (52nd and Pine)

Sunday, June 22, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

The Juneteenth Parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m. on South Concourse Drive across from the Mann Center. As usual, it will proceed along 52nd Street and conclude around 2:30 p.m. near Malcolm X Park. The Juneteenth Festival, Marketplace, Youth Pavilion, and the Art in the Park event will begin at 10 a.m. at Malcolm X Park.
