Some non-cable having friends and I were looking for a local drinking establishment to let us and whoever else interested watch Breaking Bad every Sunday evening, and Bonner's Irish Pub @ 23rd and Sansom was willing to help out. I know, it's not technically in West Philly, but just barely *not* West Philly, being right across the bridge. I just wanted to throw it out here to see if any West Philadelphians were interested in joining us.

According to Aaron Paul, Season Five is going to be a "bloodbath!" What more fun way to watch than with a bunch of other fans?

Hi Stacey:

Cavenaughs on 39th set me up last Sunday. It was basically empty – they miss their college students. Good drink specials and let brought me to a corner. They didn't want to make the whole bar watch. They turned on the surround sound so it was good. It was just me, but I'm thinking of going back this Sunday. I think that they would be happy for the business and would mind us setting up our own party.

Thanks Corey, good to know.

We chose Bonner's because it's always completely dead in there later in the evening and they have a ton of screens. I don't know how the place stays open, to be honest. It used to be my husband's friends' neighborhood bar so they'd all meet up there, and the group still gets together there every so often. It's always an empty house. We thought that made it a good candidate, since no one will care if a bunch of people want to come in and watch a TV show for an hour.

The Sunday bartender is apparently a fan, so he was all about the idea!

Ok, sounds good. Maybe I'll pop into Bonners on Sunday.

Thanks, Stacey. I was out of town, but I did see it. The "season" ended a lot stronger than it began, I think. Hopefully, I'll have AMC by the time the next season starts, but if the bar thing is the fun thiing to do, I'll go out and do that. It certainly was nice doing that and hanging out this year! Take care.
