ON-LINE YOUTH WORKSHOP This workshop will introduce students to world building in the 3D digital realm through an examination of landscape paint- ing. Students will work within Unity 3D and Adobe Fuse to create virtual environments, learning Unity 3D’s user interface, basic tools, and practical operations needed for virtual environments and gameplay.
Students are encouraged to think about world building through reading and discussing Samuel Delany’s science fiction novella “Empire Star.” The workshop challenges students to build real and imagined spaces and to consider how these spaces will be navigated in a virtual environment.
