Learn How to Quit Smoking and Breathe Easy

Mercy Philadelphia Hospital will host two free, seven-week smoking and tobacco cessation classes for individuals looking to quit smoking cigarettes, cigars, pipes and other smokeless tobacco.

Classes will take place every Wednesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The first session will be held from Jan. 24 to March 7, and the second session will take place from May 9 to June 20. A certified Mercy Philadelphia Hospital tobacco addiction specialist will help participants understand tobacco addiction and provide new coping and behavior change techniques. Additionally, participants will join in a “quit night” during week five and have access to resources for nicotine replacement therapy to help prevent relapse.

Smoking and tobacco cessation classes are free and open to the community, and pre-registration is required. Classes will be held in Mercy Philadelphia Hospital’s Community Services Building, 5352 Cedar Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19143. To register, please call 610.237.4192.
