All are welcome for this fun annual community event!

Pets bring so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives.  This has been true for centuries, with one of the most famous animal-lovers being St. Francis of Assisi. Over time, the celebration of St. Francis also grew into a celebration of the special animals in our lives known fondly as “Blessing of the Animals.”

On Saturday, October 1st, we’ll gather on the steps of the Cathedral (38th between Market and Chestnut) to celebrate and, for those interested, bless those pets near and dear to us.

There will be treats for humans and animals alike. We will also have storytelling and crafts about St. Francis and his love of all creatures, great and small. This is an event for all ages and all pets (including kids’ stuffed animal pets)!

Plan to drop by anytime between 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM. There will be group blessing services at 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM.
