Check out this lecture at the Penn Museum to find out about the new computer techniques for the digitization and analysis of text found on damaged artifacts that allowed workable, non-invasive methods for reading the “invisible library” of written material which is incredibly difficult to read. Dr. W. Brent Seales from the University of Kentucky will share results collected over the past two decades from digital restoration projects on Homeric manuscripts, Herculaneum material, and Dead Sea scrolls. This lecture is presented by the Archaeological Institute of America Philadelphia Society. Free.
