2nd annual Philly Village Building Convergence

Philadelphia City Repair Project is proud to host the 2nd annual Philly Village Building Convergence (VBC)! Help participate in Community Building and Creative Placemaking across Philadelphia by Day. Project Installations are free to attend, kid friendly, and designed by the community they will serve! Projects will be taking place at The Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden, The Sankofa House, North Philly Peace Park, Uber St. Garden Cooperation, and The Creative Vine.

The Sankofa House is an intentional space dedicated to the curation of positive culture and the empowerment of marginalized people. Volunteers will be building a zen garden with permaculture features. They can expect to work with stone, plant pollinator starts, pull weeds, & more! We will be working at 906 S 49th St on Friday and Saturday from 10am – 1pm.

The Uber St. Garden Cooperation is a space that stands for unity and health. We will be working at 1928 N Uber St. on Friday 19th and Saturday the 20th. Volunteers can expect to build picnic tables, build benches, create rock pathways, pull weeds, add compost to garden beds, trim trees, and more!

Friday Work Schedule 9-11am work 11 – 12pm lunch 12 – 2 work

Saturday work schedule 11am – 3pm

North Philly Peace Park is an open, fence-free, charitable, intergenerational, neighborhood-managed ecology campus championing food, education and community. We will be working at 2218 W. Jefferson on Friday from 1pm – 5pm. Volunteers will be painting the Peace Park shed and fences, tending to the garden, and more!

The Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden is a visionary project that uses a fundamental need such as food as a means to initiate a collective and communal experience. We will be working at 2241 N. Phillip St on Friday and Saturday from 9am – 3pm. Volunteers can expect to build flower beds, work with cement, tile, clean the space, and more!

The Creative Vine is a recreation center in West Philadelphia. We will be meeting at 6133 Vine St. on Saturday from 11am – 4pm. Volunteers can expect to clean a neighborhood lot, build a trash bin, and paint fences.

Then join us to celebrate our community and accomplishments at the Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden with Live music, Speakers, Vendors, Food and Drinks by Night.

8pm – 12am Friday and Saturday night Suggested donation $10 per night
