The Woodlands to close gates to visitors on Mondays and Tuesdays

April 3, 2020

Spring at the Woodlands.

The Woodlands Cemetery will be closed to visitors on Mondays and Tuesdays starting April 6th to allow crews to work safely on the site as the landscaping season begins. The gates will remain open to the public on Wednesday – Sunday from dawn to dusk, as long as there are resources to do so, and social distancing rules are followed.

The Woodlands administration is also asking community members and new visitors to follow key rules:

• All dogs must be on a leash, with no exceptions.
• Picking/cutting flowers from anywhere on site is not allowed.
• Tree-climbing, using hammocks, and slack-lining are strictly prohibited.
• Biking is allowed on the paved roads only. Biking on the dirt running path is prohibited.
• Please do not touch or allow children to climb on any headstones.

The full list of site rules can be found on the Woodlands website.

The Woodlands office is currently closed. If anyone needs to visit deceased loved ones on a Monday or Tuesday or has any other requests, please call 215-386-2181 and leave a message or email info@woodlandsphila.org. Messages are checked multiple times daily.

By the way, the Woodlands is now offering digital tours that can be enjoyed while onsite or at home. The tours can be found here. Check back for a new tour each week.
