Rep. Johnson-Harrell to host open house Saturday at new district office location

October 24, 2019

State Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell will welcome her constituents to her new district office location during an open house Saturday.

The open house will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at 550 N. 52nd St.

Johnson-Harrell and her staff will be available to show constituents around the new office location, to answer questions and provide help with state government-related programs.

Last month, Johnson-Harrell, who lost her 18-year-old son to gun violence in 2011, was appointed by Gov. Wolf to serve on the Special Council on Gun Violence and already introduced legislation to reduce gun violence in the state.

Also, Johnson-Harrell’s office has just announced that Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse has been awarded a $100,000 state grant to help fund a new greenway on its site. Creating the new greenway space at its current playhouse space will include installing new signage, developing play zones for children and adding lights, bike parking and trash and recycling enclosures.

Johnson-Harrell won the 190th House District seat in a special election in March. The 190th district includes some neighborhoods around Malcolm X. Park and west of 52nd Street as well as Belmont, Carroll Park, Cathedral Park, Mill Creek, Haddington, East Parkside, West Powelton, Allegheny West and Lehigh West. Here’s the map of the district:
