Shakespeare in Clark Park returns this week with five performances of Twelfth Night in the park’s bowl near 45th and Chester. The first show of the well-known Shakespearean play is scheduled for Wednesday night.

This production by the popular outdoor theatre company will be filled with music. It’s inspired by Glam Rock (check out this review by WHYY’s Peter Crimmins), and will feature some of Philly’s finest actors (prepare for some cross-gender acting), student musicians, and local cabaret performer, Jess Conda.

The cast includes: Pax Ressler (Viola), Bailey Roper (Sebastian), Angela Bey (Duke Orsino), Christina May (Olivia),  Jess Conda (Feste), Shamus Hunter McCarty (Malvolio), Rob Tucker (Mariah), Jenna Kuerzi (Sir Toby Belch), José Raúl Mangual (Sir Andrew Aguecheek), Nichalas Parker (Antonio), Carleigh Spence (Captain/Valentine).

The production is directed by Jack Tamburri and is set to run July 25-29. All performances begin at 7 p.m. and are free and family-friendly. Don’t forget to bring your blankets or chairs and pack some food and drinks, too. There will also be some food trucks on scene in case you want some snack or dessert.

In case of rain, shows will take place indoors, at Harold Prince Theatre, Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (3680 Walnut Street).
