The 40th Street Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program is currently accepting applications from local artists for its 2018-2019 residency in West Philadelphia. The program provides one year of free studio space to visual artists who reside in or are strongly affiliated with West Philadelphia neighborhoods.

The program assists emerging artists in their career growth and also lets them share their talents with the local community.

If accepted, artists will be given a studio space at either 4007 Chestnut Street or 4013 Chestnut Street beginning September 1, 2018 and ending August 15, 2019. Artists will use that time to develop their own creative work and also will be asked to engage in about 40 hours of community outreach service over the course of the residency. Community service may include exhibitions, workshops and other events.

Applications are accepted until Monday, June 4 at 11:59 p.m..
