A light brown male pit bull mix was found on Tuesday morning near 43rd and Chester. It appears that the dog had chewed through his leash. He had a collar but no tags when he was found. ACCT is scheduled to pick him up on Tuesday. The person who found the dog says that he was starving and very thirsty.

If you know the dog’s owner please call Daniel at 860.508.3644.

Was he checked for a microchip ID? If you find another pooch please also post on UCneighbors (a Google listserv) as well as westwilly and cedarparkneighbors — both FB “groups” and ask if someone can hold/foster. This is to avoid having a stray wind up in a shelter where a high number of pitbulls are euthanized due to lack of space. UC is a well-networked community with many animal-loving humans willing to help. ACCT is a last resort. Hoping he makes it out of there.
