Multiple-Robberies-DC-15-18-055582-DC-15-18-55639-DC-15-12-066004• Police have released images and surveillance video of a man who they believe robbed two Rite Aid stores in West Philadelphia and are asking for the public’s assistance to identify and locate him. Police say that the man is involved in three robberies at Rite Aid stores located at 5214 Baltimore Ave. and 5699 Chestnut St. that took place between Aug. 20 and Aug. 24. Each robbery had a similar pattern – the man entered the store, picked up some items and brought them to the register. Then he announced a robbery while simulating a weapon in his sweatshirt pocket. The man has already stolen nearly $1,000 from the stores, according to police.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20 years-of-age, 5’7″, 150 pounds, with acne. He was wearing sunglasses, gray khaki shorts, and a sweatshirt. He used a dark colored mountain bike in two robberies. Tipsters are asked to contact Southwest Detective Division with any information about the robberies or the suspect: 215-685-3183/3184.

• Drexel University students and police are on high alert after a series of burglaries that took place near campus between Saturday and Monday, Aug. 22-24. Police say a total of five burglaries occurred in the area – at off-campus apartments on the 3200 block of Powelton Ave. and on the 300 block of N. 33rd St, and at a residence on the 3200 block of Summer St. All five burglaries took place in the morning, between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. and in all five cases the burglar or burglars entered the buildings through unlocked doors or windows. 6ABC has interviewed some students and Drexel officials about the burglaries. In some cases the door was propped open, making it easier for the burglars to get into the building, 6ABC reports.

It’s not just me, right? He is just making his hand into the shape of a gun in his pocket…

  2. Mark Mandel Says:

Read the first paragraph: “Then he announced a robbery while ***simulating*** a weapon in his sweatshirt pocket.”

Indeed, I did read it; just confirming that means what I thought it meant. it’s just so absurd.
