Adopt-a-Dog: Lucy

August 23, 2012

This dog’s name is Lucy and she currently is ACCT’s longest term resident by quite some time. For some reason the caramel colored dogs get often overlooked. Lucy is a 1-2 year old female Pitbull terrier mix. She’s on the smaller side weighing only about 40 lbs. Her previous family couldn’t keep her due to landlord issues so she ended up at the shelter. She has a beautiful brown coat with some white on her chest and toes. Her biggest attribute is her huge pittie smile!

Lucy’s stay at the shelter has been super special because she’s a member of the ACCT Penpals. Her Penpal is an employee at ACCT that spends one on one time with her, takes her on adventures, and is teaching her manners and new commands. Lucy loves her human friends so much that she tends to jump up when she sees them, but she’s learning that this is not very lady like. Lucy is learning to be a very classy girl.

Lucy has gotten along with all the dogs she’s met at the shelter. She’s also been on a couple pack walks with up to 12 other dogs and she was on her best behavior. An active family would be the best option for this dog. Multiple walks and play time help to get all her energy out. After that she’s an awesome girl who loves to relax in the sun or under picnic tables. You can take her everywhere with you. She’s great in the car!

If you think that Lucy is the perfect match for your family, stop at ACCT to meet her. ACCT is located at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave, phone: 267-385-3800, email: adopt@acctphilly.org.
